Morehead State University President Wayne D. Andrews announced Friday his intention to retire effective June 30, 2017.
Andrews has been president of the university since Jan. 1, 2005, according to the MSU website.
At a Board of Regents meeting Friday, Andrews said that he and his wife, Sue, “have been discussing retirement with our family for the past year.
“After considerable thought and prayer, we believe now is the time to give the Board notice of our intention to retire. When I was selected as president in January 2005, I told the Board that I would invest all of the personal and professional energy I had into leading this great university,” Andrews said. “I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished, and I look forward to leaving Morehead State University on a solid foundation upon which the next president will continue to build.”
At the meeting, Board of Regents Chair Paul C. Goodpaster outlined a process for selecting the next president of MSU, including the use of a national search firm.
