A woman who jumped Friday from a bridge in Cynthiana was rescued by officers and was in stable condition in a Lexington hospital, according to Kentucky State Police.
A woman jumped from the bridge on West Pleasant Street into the Licking River before the Cynthiana Police Department and Kentucky State Police responded to the area, police said.
Troopers Troy Brooks and Joseph Filiatreau spotted the woman in the water, police said. The troopers and Cynthiana police officer Jeff Thomas entered the river and were able to pull her to safety.
The woman was taken to Harrison Memorial Hospital by ambulance before being flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, police said. She was in stable condition later Friday.
