A 61-year-old Monroe County man has been charged with distribution and possession of child pornography, the Kentucky State Police said.
James L. Holland Jr of Gamaliel was arrested about 8 p.m. Thursday by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch and its Columbia post.
Holland’s arrest was a part of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, state police said. The Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after they found Holland shared images of child sexual exploitation online.
State police obtained a search warrant Thursday for Holland’s home. Investigators found equipment used in the crime and sent the evidence to the state police forensic laboratory for examination, police said. The investigation continues.

Holland is charged with one count of distribution and one count of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. State police said both charges are Class D felonies, punishable by one to five years in prison. Additional charges are expected, state police said.
Holland was taken to the Monroe County jail, state police said.
