A juvenile has been charged with wanton murder, first-degree assault and aggravated DUI in connection with a crash on Beech Fork Road in Marion County Saturday morning.
A 1996 Dodge pickup was traveling west about eight miles east of Lebanon at about 11:19 a.m. when the driver, a juvenile whose name was not released, failed to negotiate a curve and left the road, hitting a culvert, state police said. The pickup then hit a barn and a tree before coming to a stop on the shoulder of the road.
Cambron Dillon Raikes, 22, of Lebanon, had been riding in the bed of the truck and was thrown from it during the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and another passenger were taken to Springview Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. After treatment, the driver was arrested.
