A body found near the Interstate 64-75 split in Lexington early Friday apparently had been the driver in a hit-and-run Thursday night, the Fayette County Coroner's office said.
Clark Roberts, 53, of Virgie, was found in a field next to the westbound lanes of the I-64 ramp onto southbound I-75 at 7:40 a.m., the office said in a release.
The coroner's investigation showed that Roberts fell from the interstate bridge and hit his head. No foul play was suspected.
At 7:38 p.m. Thursday, the coroner's office said, Roberts was the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run at Winchester Road and I-75.
His car was later found, unoccupied, facing northbound on the I-75 southbound emergency lane.
Other information, including details of the hit-and-run, were not available Friday.
