A woman from Port Royal in Henry County was injured when an explosive device that had been placed inside a traffic cone detonated on her property Tuesday.
Kentucky State Police said Clarissa Tackett, 21, told officers that she had discovered three traffic cones at the end of her driveway on Monday.
She said removed two of the cones Monday, police said. When she removed the third cone on Tuesday, an apparent explosive device beneath the cone detonated.
Tackett was taken to an urgent care clinic, treated and released.
State troopers from Post 5 in Campbellsburg responded to the call about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Hazardous Devices unit and a canine division searched the property and did not locate any other explosive devices.
The Louisville division of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating.
