An attempted drug deal in Jackson on Thursday has resulted in charges against three people, police said.
Darrell Baker, 47, tried to sell 195 Oxycodone tablets to an undercover detective; Baker had a concealed .38-caliber revolver during the exchange but was taken into custody without incident, police said.
He was charged with first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
The arrest helped detectives develop probable cause for a search warrant in Bath County.
Kentucky State Police served the warrant Thursday and arrested John and Sherry Townsend in connection to Baker's arrest. John Townsend was charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substances, receiving stolen property and first degree tampering with physical evidence. Sherry Townsend was charged with first degree trafficking in controlled substances.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has adopted the case and will present it to a federal grand jury.
