A Carter County man who had been missing since Wednesday was found dead in an overturned vehicle Thursday, police said.
According to the Kentucky State Police, 44-year-old Brian Blankenship of Olive Hill had not been seen since late Wednesday. On Thursday afternoon, police found a vehicle overturned in a creek off Bego Lane, not far from Blankenship's home. Further investigation revealed Blankenship's body inside the vehicle.
Police say Blankenship died when the vehicle ran off the roadway at the end of a bridge, went over an embankment, and landed on its roof in the creek.
