A Harlan County pedestrian was killed Saturday after being hit by a car, police said.
Gregory Harris, 38 of Bledsoe, was walking east in the eastbound lane of KY 840 near Rio Vista at about 8:45 p.m., according to a press release from the Kentucky State Police in Harlan. Adam Honeycutt, 33, of Wallins was driving his Honda Accord east. Honeycutt did not see Harris and struck him from behind, police said. Harris was thrown approximately 20 feet. He was taken to the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police are continuing the investigation but no charges are pending at this time. Honeycutt was not hurt in the incident.
