HAZARD — A man died early Sunday after a fight at a party in Perry County, state police reported.
Julius Edward Williams, 45, was at a party on top of a mountain on Montgomery Creek in Vicco, police said witnesses reported, when a fight broke out.
After police were called about 3:30 a.m. because of an assault complaint, Williams' family reported that he was missing.
Williams' body was found in a weeded area near the site of the fight.
His body was sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy.
State police spokesman Tony Watts said no one had been arrested as of Monday on the assault complaint, and the order of events was unclear.
Police ask anyone with information about the party or Williams to call the Hazard state police post at (606) 435-6069. You may remain anonymous.
