A man charged with murder in the death of a victim's advocate whose body was found about two months ago in a truck pleaded not guilty in Franklin Circuit Court on Friday, according to the Franklin Circuit Clerk's Office.
Alastair Martel Couch, 33, of Frankfort, is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 5. He is accused of fatally shooting Tomma Graves, 37, who was found dead the morning of Aug. 2 on the 300 block of Washington Street in Frankfort.
Couch has been indicted on two counts of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, tampering with physical evidence and being a persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, Couch was convicted in April 2005 in Tennessee on charges of kidnapping, fleeing and evading police, and aggravated assault.
Graves had worked with the commonwealth's attorney's office and the county attorney's office since 2007.
