A Perry County man died early Tuesday in a wreck at a surface coal mine, according to a news release from the state Energy and Environment Cabinet.
Rhett Mosley, 32, died after a truck he was driving overturned at the Rex-Strip Coal Mine in Harlan County, according to the release.
Mosley was a contract employee of the mine. The preliminary investigation indicated that he was on his way to work on some equipment near the end of a service road at the mine when the wreck happened at 12:05 a.m.
The mine is owned by Rex Coal Co.

Mosley's death is the seventh mine-related fatality in Kentucky this year, according to the news release.
