A 14-year-old boy died in a crash in Owsley County early Sunday, state police said.
Dylan McIntosh of Booneville was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened at 4:27 a.m. on Ky. 3504, just north of Booneville, when Shane Chezenski, 18, of Booneville, lost control of the Dodge pickup. Chezenski was traveling north on Ky. 3504 when he apparently lost control on a wet road. The pickup ran off the road and hit a culvert.
Dylan was Chezenski's passenger.
Chezenski was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released Sunday. Dylan and Chezenski had been wearing seat belts.
Chezenski does not have a driver's license, and the truck he was driving belonged to someone else, Trooper Chris Lanham said.
State police said the cause of the crash is under investigation, and charges against Chezenski are pending.
Visitation for Dylan will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Booneville Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
