Six boats were destroyed by fire early Friday at a marina in Clinton County, according to the county's emergency-management director.
Officials at Grider Hill Marina & Resort believe a lightning strike started the blaze, said Lonnie Scott, the emergency-management director.
Scott said high winds also damaged five homes and destroyed a barn and two outbuildings early Friday. The houses did not have major damage, he said.
That storm hit between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. (CST) in the Beatty Creek community in southern Clinton County, near the border with Tennessee.
Scott said it was not known whether a tornado touched down.
