Harrison County authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed several thousand wooden pallets at a business in Cynthiana Sunday afternoon.
Lt. Scott Nelson of the Cynthiana Fire Department said the blaze at Doyle's Pallets, off West Road, was reported at about 3 p.m. The company manufactures wooden pallets for industry and other customers.
Between 3,000-4,000 pallets were destroyed, Nelson said, representing most of the merchandise the company had on hand.
Crews cleared the scene early Sunday night, but Nelson said that company owner Gary Doyle remained behind to keep watch on the business.
The cause of the blaze had not been determined, Nelson said.
But Doyle told local television stations that he thinks the blaze might be the result of arson. He said the business has been broken into several times recently.
