Two men killed in Pike County on Sunday evening each died from a single gunshot wound, state police said Monday.
The two were James E. Bowling, 44, and Phillip Silcox, 46, both of Elkhorn City, state police said.
Officers who investigated the shootings found Bowling dead at his house. Silcox was taken to the Pikeville Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Trooper Shaun Little, spokesman for the state police post in Pikeville, said no information was available Monday afternoon on what police think might have led to the shootings.
Police were not calling the case a homicide investigation Monday, but rather a death investigation.
The shootings happened in the Marrowbone community. State police were called at 9:51 p.m.
