A 2-year-old boy was struck by a van Monday while playing in a Rowan County road.
The boy was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital and was listed in stable condition Monday afternoon, according to a news release from the Kentucky State Police.
Jerry L. Flannery, of Morehead was driving a 1997 Mercury Villager on Triplett Creek Road when he crested a hill and saw the child in the road, police said in the news release. Flannery tried to brake and swerve to his left to miss the child, but he was unable to avoid hitting him.
No charges have been filed.
