A man who fell from the back of a jet ski in the Kentucky River on Sunday was still missing Tuesday.
Doug Hampton said he was operating the jet ski in Mercer County with Mike McCarty riding behind him and that at some point McCarty fell off, the Associated Press reported. Hampton said he did not notice at first that McCarty was gone.
A cadaver dog and sonar equipment were brought in by rescue workers, and water traffic was shut down to parts of the river Sunday night so divers could look for McCarty.
McCarty, who lives near the river, went missing near the Brooklyn Bridge off of U.S. 68 at Palisades around 6 p.m. Sunday, WKYT-TV reported.
