One man was killed Thursday when his motorcycle collided head-on with a truck on U.S. 127 in Casey County.
Robbie Howell, 41, of Liberty was taken by ambulance to Casey County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck, Leslie Penrod, 52, of Russell Springs was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
Penrod had been discharged by 9 a.m. Friday, hospital spokeswoman Julie Phillips said.
The truck crossed the center line into the path of the motorcycle, Sheriff Jerry Coffman said.
The Casey County Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash, Coffman said. There are charges pending in the case.
Witnesses reported seeing the truck moving erratically on U.S. 127 before the crash, Coffman said. Investigators suspect that speed was a factor.
Lajuana Wilson, 29, of Russell Springs was in the truck with Penrod at the time of the crash. She was taken to Casey County Hospital with minor injuries, Coffman said.
