A Pike County man died in a two-vehicle crash Thursday, Kentucky State Police said.
Gordon Haynes, 49, of Elkhorn City was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said in a release.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Haynes was driving a Chevrolet Camaro south on Ky. 197 in the Elkhorn Creek community of Pike County. The Camaro crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a GMC pickup truck with seven occupants. Six were taken to Pikeville Medical Center to be treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
One occupant was airlifted from the scene to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington.
