A woman was killed in a wreck in Knox County early Monday, according to Kentucky State Police.
The preliminary investigation indicates Charles Lawson, 49, of Arjay was driving north on U.S. 25E when he drove off the shoulder of the road and lost control, police said in a news release.
The passenger side of Lawson's 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck hit a utility pole.
The passenger in the truck, 44-year-old Malinda Lawson of Arjay, died at the scene, according to the release.
The Lawsons were both wearing seat belts, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the accident, police said.
The wreck happened in the Flat Lick community shortly before 5:30 a.m.
