Mount Sterling man could be 'hottest bachelor'

Will Matt Overstreet be our state hunk?

Only if you vote for him in the Cosmopolitan magazine "Hottest Bachelor of 2008" competition.

Cosmopolitan will give you a chance to represent on behalf of the Commonwealth of Kentucky by casting a vote for the Mount Sterling native.

A senior at Morehead State University, Overstreet, 21, is one of 51 hot bachelors featured in the November issue of the magazine. There is a bachelor from each except for Michigan, which has two contestants.

Readers can check out all the bachelors and help Cosmo pick the Bachelor of the Year at www.cosmopolitan.com/bachelors. You can vote from midnight Oct. 6 to 11:59 p.m. Oct. 12. The winner, who will be selected from the semifinalists by a panel of Cosmo editors, will receive a $10,000 cash prize.

Says Overstreet: "I'm just a small town guy who's strong in family values."

While Overstreet's mom, Tina Overstreet, doesn't like to think of her son as hot, she does think he's nice looking and "a fantastic kid."

"He represents Kentucky" she said. Tina Overstreet emphasizes that it would be nonsensical not to vote for the sports management major who describes himself as a "massive" University of Kentucky sports fan.

So: Vote early, vote often, vote Overstreet.
