Many flights at Blue Grass Airport were canceled Tuesday because of snow and ice.
"The airport is open and we do have flights coming in and out," said Amy Caudill, spokeswoman for the airport.
But airlines had canceled or delayed flights. Of the 70 departures and arrivals scheduled for Tuesday, four flights had departed by 3 p.m. and one had arrived. Seven more flights were still scheduled, Caudill said. The rest had been canceled.
Individual airlines decide whether to cancel flights, Caudill said.
She encouraged passengers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.
Delta, United, Northwest, American and U.S. Airways were allowing customers to reschedule affected flights without change fees, according to notices on their Web sites.
