There's still some March madness left for Wildcat basketball.
The women did Kentucky proud Sunday afternoon in the first round of NCAA tournament play, shutting down Navy after allowing a first-half rally, to finish with a 20-point victory.
"We've never been pressed so hard for 40 minutes," a Navy forward said after the game.
Music to the Big Blue Nation's ears.
Tonight the second-seeded Wildcats return to action in Queens, NY, against seventh-seeded Dayton, which toughed out a double overtime victory Sunday against St. John's.
Clearly this roster of young student-athletes, largely juniors and seniors, had the maturity to reassess and turn the tables in its first round game. Here's hoping they'll show the same skill and resourcefulness in tonight's game, and that Wildcat fans everywhere will be rooting for them.
