It appears the most lasting one-and-done legacy that Coach John Calipari will leave to Kentucky basketball is his record of national championships.
That one success was due more to the presence of that magnificent anomaly named Anthony Davis than any coaching brilliance. Since Duke University’s Coach K has entered the one-and-done arena, he is eating Coach Cal’s lunch.
The “greatest day in Kentucky basketball history” is only a memory now.
I’m afraid Calipari’s carnival barking has grown stale, his magic elixir has lost its potency and it’s time to climb on the old medicine wagon and move on down the road. The sooner the better. It’s time for a coach who will return UK to a national championship school instead of a prep school.
