Senator, disability helps me survive
Sen. Rand Paul recently told a group, "If you look like me and you hop out of your truck, you shouldn't be getting a disability check. Over half of the people on disability are either anxious or their back hurts. Join the club."
I'm hopping off the bicycle because I don't think disability can buy a truck. And so the back hurts.
Why shouldn't it after pulling out bleachers for 13 years? Many years carrying beds and chests and study desks up and down steps in dorms.
Never miss a local story.
And did I mention someone told me that I had been doing the work of three people? Why shouldn't the back hurt?
But my disability is my mind. I'm just trying to survive; disability helps some.
Paul is a loser, as are all who have destroyed this country for greed. I am not greedy, I just want to survive.

I have never seen a Democratic Party so joined together as it was when Wendell H. Ford ran for governor. Everyone loved Ford, and he and his staff gave the love back. No matter how big he got, he always helped the little man.
Ford was the greatest governor we have ever had; we will never see the likes of him again.

No tax funds to business
Tom Eblen's Jan. 12 column exposed clearly, with facts and figures, the mess some lawmakers and state tourism officials have gotten us into as they have promised tax breaks, bond issues, land grants and road improvements to Answers in Genesis for its Ark Park.
It should be illegal to spend taxpayers' money on any private enterprise; that includes a private religious theme park. Let Ken Ham and his followers build their park with private contributions from their followers. Wake up, Kentucky lawmakers and taxpayers. Don't let this happen.

No extra charge for rescue
What's all this talk about not giving free emergency vehicle rides when one is in need of a rescue? I assume I am wrong again, but I thought we paid all these taxes: payroll, school, utilities, property, city, state and federal.
What's next — charge if you call the Lexington law enforcement for help?
Give back the plunder
If Pope Francis is serious about fighting poverty, a good beginning would be to melt all the gold and silver the church looted from the Inca, Maya and Aztec people, and give it to the poor. How rich does a church need to be?

Do House Speaker John Boehner and or did President Barack Obama have to stand outside in the cold to smoke cigarettes?
