3 sports sections is too many
It just keeps happening: three sports sections. Hard to find which one has world news or Dear Abby. For some readers, it might not matter. Five thousand years of advances in science, art, philosophy and religion has come to this — mankind's ability to direct a spheroid downward through an iron ring.
Who'd a-thunk we'd worship a dunk?
The grand celebration is at hand. And then what? A full-page photo of an athlete dunking a donut in the college cafeteria?
Not a banner day
Apparently couches aren't the only thing in danger when the Cats win. I was shocked to discover that after the win last week, someone stole our large University of Kentucky house flag along with the pole, right off of our front porch on Mount Vernon Drive.
We live close to campus and I imagine someone decided to take the flag to a nearby street celebration. I am dismayed to see how out of control the celebrations have become, and had a hard time explaining to my kids why someone would steal our flag.
Aren't we all in this together? Why would someone do this? Keep it classy, UK. The nation is watching, including three kids who no longer have a UK flag to proudly display at home.
Obey the law, avoid cops
Here is a simple message to all citizens — black, white, Hispanic. If you don't break the laws of our country, you won't have any issue with the police who oversee and enforce these laws.
No Duke clips, please
There are sick people in management of television networks. There are harassment laws violated when they keep showing a clip of a University of Kentucky ball game from 1992. They show it over and over and, because they do not do that to other schools, it is harassment.
To say we can change the channel is to deny us the right to view the game we want.
The networks are not doing the same to other schools. It is sick. The court system should get involved and a cease and desist order sustained.
No nickname for monster
I am disappointed in the media for using a cute name for the man raised in London who is now chopping off heads of people in Syria. It seems disrespectful to those who lost their heads at his hand for him to have a moniker.
