Jenner's heroism not the real thing
I was appalled by some people writing about Bruce or Caitlyn or whatever Jenner and how much courage it took to come out of the closet and do these interviews on prime time TV. Some people even expressed what a hero he or she is.
Who really cares about his or her lifestyle? As far as I'm concerned, heroes and people with courage are our firefighters, law enforcement officers and, last but not least, our women and men in the military who protect us 24 hours a day.
These are the people for whom I hold the highest respect.
Liberty's false friend
It's poetic justice that Sen. Rand Paul opposed Sen. Mitch McConnell's effort to extend the National Security Agency's bulk collection of data under the Patriot Act. Paul has the Republican leadership he deserves, as he endorsed McConnell's re-election in last year's Republican primary. It's very disingenuous that Paul's super PAC, America's Liberty PAC, refers to Sen. Ted Cruz as the "capitulating Canadian."
Paul's endorsement of McConnell was a sellout of liberty and all because he needed McConnell's help in getting the Republican Party of Kentucky's Executive Committee to recommend that the Kentucky Republican Committee vote to switch from a Republican presidential primary to a caucus.
He may speak liberty but his actions speak hypocrisy. He is the prototypical "the end justifies the means" Republican.
I hope the RPK State Committee rejects the switch that takes away liberty from Republican voters and makes it harder for them to participate in the nomination process.

Here we go again. In early 2000 the climate alarmists had a big problem with the historical record: the Medieval Warm Period (MWP), only a millennium ago, was a full 4 degrees warmer than today's temperature. This made the claim that the current climate warming was unprecedented obviously spurious.
Michael Mann reconstructed past climate data to eliminate the MWP. Climate alarmists rallied around this fraudulent chart. It was highlighted both in Al Gore's propaganda movie and again by the United Nations in its Third Climate Report. This paper was proved fraudulent by the Wegman panel in a congressional investigation.
Now a new problem for the climate alarmists: no warming for the past 18 years six months. Tom Karl has put together an analysis of ocean temperature data that is highly speculative, producing a tenuous statistical result that is at odds with those produced by the United Kingdom Met Office and NASA, but supports the alarmists consensus of continued global warming.
This conjured analysis is intended to support President Obama's planned UN climate treaty signing in December.
Let Conn pay
Lawyer Eric Conn was paid $22 million by Social Security to represent Appalachian clients applying for Social Security Disability payments. Conn apparently used part of the money to pay off a judge and some doctors to fraudulently qualify some of his clients. Now, to solve the problem, Social Security has cut off disability payments to 900 of Conn's clients to review the claims for fraud.
The average SSA disability payment is $1,165 a month. These people live in poverty and barely have enough money to survive. Republican Congressman Hal Rogers, who represents many of these impoverished people, wants the government to continue the monthly payments unless fraud is proven.
I have a better idea. The total monthly cost for 900 persons at $1,165 a month would be about $1 million. SSA should garnishee the bank accounts of lawyer Conn. Conn should still have at least $12 million of his ill gotten gains left after his payments to the judge, the doctors and various politicians. That could support all 900 people for a year, time to complete the reviews.
