Thank you to the Herald-Leader for this opportunity to reach out to the 1st District. Thank you for the praise and for recognizing my success in accomplishing things in the community.
I believe our district deserves full-time representation and safer communities, this is my mission.
I have 20 successful years of housing and administration experience where I specialized in low-income housing. I have placed over 1,000 families in homes.
Many district residents feel neglected by city government and don't feel they get equal treatment with the other districts. I will "roll up my sleeves," as you put it, and see that this is changed.
The 1st District needs someone who will be there 24 hours a day. As the only candidate willing and able to work this position full time, I'm 100 percent committed.
I will not be a spare-time council representative, nor will I use the office to further a political career. There are many meetings that my opponent won't be able to attend because of his commitments. You can't get things done if you can't show up.
I'm endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police and will continue to work with the police to improve the safety of our district. My goal is to make the 1st District the safest community in Lexington.
A safer community will improve quality of life for everyone, have positive effects on housing and will draw small businesses to the community.
I ask for your vote and support on Nov. 2.
