I'm running for U.S. House to bring better representation to Congress for southeast Kentucky and for America.
For 30 years in Congress, Hal Rogers has gone along with the Washington mistakes that eliminated or sent our jobs overseas, kept us dependent on Middle East oil, bogged us down in endless foreign wars and bankrupted our country.
After 30 years of Rogers in Congress, Kentucky's 5th District remains troubled by the lack of jobs and educational opportunities, poverty and accompanying poor health and low life expectancy.
Now is the time for a new beginning and better representation in Congress.
In Congress, I will work to bring our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan and take proper care of our veterans. I will work to correct the trade and economic mistakes that have deliberately de-industrialized America and put millions of Americans out of work. I will work to develop and enact a national energy plan that provides for America's future.
I ask for the votes of Democrats who value traditional Democratic support for working people and want to see a strong American middle class.
I ask for the votes of Republicans who still hold the traditional Republican values of real fiscal discipline, non-interventionist foreign policy and effective national defense.
I ask for the votes of Independents who want to see reform, openness and honesty in government.
I appreciate this opportunity to ask the people of southeast Kentucky to elect me as their U.S. representative on Nov. 2.
