I want to thank the editorial board and Herald Leader for having me participate in this process.
While I was disappointed not to receive their endorsement, my goal during this campaign has been to gain the endorsement of the people of the 3rd District.
That is why for nine weeks I've walked 25 hours weekly and personally knocked on more than 2,500 doors, listening to the needs of neighbors and hand delivering a copy of my 12-page Fresh Approach Plan.
It details issues facing the district while giving 25 solutions to address these issues as well as nine ways to bring fiscal responsibility back to this office.
Besides speaking directly to the residents, I've met one-on-one with many community leaders to have conversations about some of these pressing issues.
To be clear, my wife and I are local residential Realtors; I'm not a real estate investor. Building a successful real estate business has provided me with practical skills, financial acumen and creative problem-solving techniques, all of which will serve me in office.
Finally, I think the contrast in the choice in this election is an important one. Woody Allen stated, "80 percent of success is showing up."
Over the past 12 months, Diane Lawless ranks last in attendance to council meetings. While I respect the councilwoman personally, I think we deserve better.
I will show up, be organized and will bring fresh ideas, fiscal responsibility and real results to the 3rd District. I humbly ask for your support.
