A Menifee County man was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal abuse first degree after a 6-year-old boy was taken to a hospital with injuries to his chest, back and ears.
Kentucky State Police in Morehead said in a news release that the boy was taken to St. Joseph East Hospital in Mount Sterling Tuesday morning with "severe bruising on his abdomen, back and earlobes."
After talking with the boy, officers spoke to Justin Bailey, 29, of Highway 1569 in Wellington, Ky.
Police said Bailey "admitted to disciplining the child" and that his statements led to his arrest.
Bailey remained in the Woodford County Detention Center in Versailles Wednesday on a $10,000 full cash bond.
