A Georgetown College student who is on the college's baseball team was arrested Friday night after police confiscated 1,100 prescription pills on campus, Georgetown Police Lt. Robert Swanigan said.
Michael Syrett, 22, was charged Friday with trafficking in a controlled substance and later released from the Scott County Detention Center, jail officials said.
Swanigan said Georgetown police are working with U.S. Postal Service officials on the investigation. The pills were the prescription painkiller Percocet, he said.
Georgetown College Dean of Students Todd Gambill said that Syrett was still a Georgetown College student Sunday night and that he was on the baseball team's pre-season roster.

Gambill, the Vice President for Student Life, said the school has "an accountability process for times when it is alleged that a student has violated our student code of conduct."
Gambill said the school was cooperating with the police investigation.
