Sunny skies are ahead and the chances for heavy snow Monday have decreased, according to a National Weather Service forecaster.
No significant snow or ice is forecast for Central Kentucky through early next week, said meteorologist Joe Ammerman.
Partly cloudy skies are expected Saturday with a low of 34 degrees overnight, and then sunny skies and a high of 49 Sunday, said.
There's a chance of light snow on Sunday night when the temperature could drop to 26 degrees.
Never miss a local story.
The chance of light snow continues through Monday, when the high will be 32. Previously, the Weather Service had said there was a chance of 2 to 4 inches of snow for Lexington on Monday.
Ammerman said he couldn't, however, rule out that far Eastern Kentucky could see more significant amounts of snowfall.
