Teen queen Miley Cyrus is coming to Kentucky twice during her upcoming North American tour, and one date is at Rupp Arena.
The actress and singer, daughter of Flatwoods native Billy Ray Cyrus, will play Freedom Hall in Louisville on Oct. 31 and Rupp on Nov. 1, according to an announcement Wednesday. That's midway through her 45-show tour, which kicks off Sept. 14 in Portland, Ore., and is scheduled to end Dec. 2 in Miami.
Tickets for the entire tour, including the Lexington and Louisville shows, go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. June 13 through Ticketmaster, 1-800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com/mileycyrus. Tickets are $39.50 to $79.50 plus fees. No tickets will be sold at the box office.
A pre-sale for fan club members is 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 8, and a pre-sale for American Express card holders starts at 10 a.m. June 10.
All tickets will be paperless.
Miley, 16, is the star of the Disney Channel comedy Hannah Montana, for which she just signed on for a fourth season. Disney Channel spokeswoman Hope Diamond said Tuesday that Cyrus will film the fresh episodes early next year. Billy Ray Cyrus co-stars on Hannah Montana. Between now and then, Miley will do the concert tour and shoot the Nicholas Sparks drama The Last Song.
On Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, Miley won the trophy for best song from a movie for her song The Climb.
She previously visited Rupp Arena in December 2007 as part of her Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds tour.
The band Metro Station, fronted by Miley's older brother Trace, will open the new tour. The band is best known for its Billboard top 10 hit from last year, Shake It.
