The state's top junior and senior softball players will be in Lexington this weekend for the East-West All-Star series.
Festivities begin Friday and go all weekend with a series of games at the University of Kentucky Softball Complex.
The final games will be Sunday with the East Juniors (regions 9-16) taking on the West Juniors (regions 1-8) at 10 a.m. and then East Senior All-Stars meeting the West Senior All-Stars at 12:30 p.m.
Senior All-Stars from the 11th Region include Alyssa Barker and Tess Barnes (Western Hills), Corie Roberts (Paul Laurence Dunbar), Dana Jarboe (Franklin County), Hannah Simms (Lexington Catholic), Heather Oakley (Lafayette) and Sarah Howard and Taber Lewis (Scott County).

Emily Gaines of South Laurel will receive her Miss Softball honors Saturday.
Honors for All-State players and top coaches also will be presented at UK. The Kentucky Prep Softball Hall of Fame class also will be inducted.
Gaines recently was named the Kentucky Gatorade Softball Player of the Year. Gaines, a right-handed pitcher and infielder, is the state's all-time leader in hits (345) and doubles (104). She set the state single-season record for hits (83) and doubles (27).
The UK signee batted .634 with 17 home runs, 54 runs scored and 63 RBI. As a pitcher, she went 19-2 with a 0.68 earned run average.
