RICHMOND — Rebecca Greenwell did her usual damage for Owensboro Catholic in a 60-38 rout of Louisville Christian in the quarterfinals of the Touchstone Energy All "A" Classic on Friday.
The Aces will face familiar foe Lexington Christian in Saturday morning's semifinal at Eastern Kentucky.
Greenwell, a 6-foot-1 sophomore swing player who is highly coveted on the national level, scored 35 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. The state's top scorer also added six steals and three assists for Owensboro Catholic (17-7). It followed up her 39-point first round performance.
Mary Kate Clemens added nine points and four boards.
For the Centurions (11-9), Kate Joss led the way with 10 points. China Dow added nine points and six rebounds.
Monroe County 57, Sheldon Clark 51: Caylen Bybee had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Falcons (15-5) to the semifinals. Madison Clements added 13 points and Kayla Murray 12.
Playing on her future home floor, Eastern Kentucky University signee Carla Booth was impressive, scoring 35 points and grabbing nine rebounds for the Cardinals (14-7), who saw their nine-game win streak come to an end.
Newport Central Catholic 67, Danville 47: The defending small-school tournament champion Thoroughbreds (16-3) shook off a slow start and ran away to their 13th straight win.
NewCath's defense forced 22 turnovers and held the Admirals to 26.2 percent shooting. The loss halted a six-game win streak for Danville (17-5), which got 17 points apiece from Kasey Young and Essence Gray.
Brittany Fryer led a balanced NewCath attack with a game-high 24 points. Three other Thoroughbreds finished in double figures, led by Aubrey Muench's 13 points and 11 rebounds.
