The top two baseball teams in the Southeastern Conference — and according to one poll, the top two teams in the country — collide this weekend when Louisiana State visits Kentucky's Cliff Hagan Stadium for a three-game series.
Kentucky (33-5, 11-4 SEC) has won all five of its SEC series and is 5-1 at home in the conference.
The Wildcats, 9-4 against top-25 opponents, will send their regular weekend rotation to the mound. Junior left-hander Taylor Rogers (4-1, 5.07 ERA) faces LSU sophomore All-American Kevin Gausman (6-1, 2.76 ERA) on Friday; junior lefty Jerad Grundy (3-1, 4.60 ERA) faces LSU sophomore righty Ryan Eades (5-1, 2.51 ERA) on Saturday; and sophomore lefty Corey Littrell (6-0, 1.95 ERA) faces LSU freshman right-hander Aaron Nola (5-1, 3.15 ERA) on Sunday.
LSU (31-7, 11-4), which has won seven games in a row, has a .303 team batting average with 19 homers and 32 steals in 38 games.
