Under perfect weather on the Fourth of July, thousands ran the streets of Lexington during the 38th annual Bluegrass 10,000 on Friday.
More than 3,000 people registered Friday's race, which traditionally kicks off the Fourth of July holiday in downtown Lexington.
2013 race champion Antonio Marchi defended his title in the 2014 race, finishing with a time of 31 minutes.
Eastern Kentucky graduate assistant track coach Lydia Kosgei won the Bluegrass 10K women's division.
