The Morehead State football program has received a national Academic Progress Rate award from the Football Championship Subdivision Athletic Directors Association.
The APR award recognizes the school in each of the 13 FCS conferences that has the highest APR score. The association also recognizes one school from each conference that has improved the most from the previous year.
Morehead State made the greatest improvement among the 11 Pioneer Football League institutions in its APR score in the past reporting year. The program won the award, which began in 2010, for the first time.
NCAA schools adopted a comprehensive academic reform package several years ago designed to improve the academic success and graduation of all students. The centerpiece of the package is the academic measurement for teams, known as the APR.
