The University of Louisville picked up its biggest commitment yet for the class of 2016 on Thursday, adding a pledge from highly touted quarterback Jawon Pass.
Pass — a native of Columbus, Ga. — is considered a four-star prospect by all of the major recruiting services, and he chose the Cardinals over scholarship offers from Alabama and Auburn. His older brother, defensive back Khane Pass, signed with Louisville in February.
247Sports ranks Jawon Pass as the No. 3 dual-quarterback and No. 106 overall prospect in the class of 2016, making him Bobby Petrino's highest-profile commitment since returning as U of L's head coach.
Louisville now has 13 commitments for next year, and wide receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick is the Cards' only other four-star pledge, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. That recruiting service ranks U of L's class at No. 33 nationally and No. 6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
