HOOVER, Ala. — Demarcus Henderson drove in Mitch Slauter with a single in the sixth inning to give Mississippi State a 3-2 victory over top-seeded LSU Wednesday in the second round of the Southeastern Conference baseball tournament.
Bulldogs starter Chris Stratton (11-1) struck out eight and allowed five hits over six innings. Jonathan Holder struck out two in the ninth to post his eighth save.
LSU (42-15) used seven pitchers, with none lasting more than 22⁄3 innings. Joe Broussard (4-1), who gave up the game-winning hit to Henderson, took the loss.
Mississippi 2, Arkansas 0: Mike Mayers pitched seven scoreless innings and Mississippi eliminated Arkansas.

Mayers (5-3) struck out eight and allowed five hits and one walk for the Rebels (35-23).
Zach Kirksey was instrumental in both runs. He led off the fourth with his first triple of the season and scored on a groundout by Sikes Orvis. Kirksey drove in the second run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
Auburn 3, Georgia 2: Justin Bryant hit a solo home run and threw 11⁄3 scoreless innings of late relief to lift Auburn in an elimination game.
Georgia trailed 3-0 in the eighth before scoring twice on RBI singles by Nelson Ward and Conor Welton.
Bryant, Auburn's designated hitter, came in to pitch and struck out Joey Delmonico to end the eighth. Then in the ninth he got Colby May to line out to end the game with the bases loaded.
Auburn took a 1-0 lead in the first on a single by Patrick Savage that scored Jay Gonzalez.
Gonzalez scored again in the third on a groundout by Creede Simpson, followed by Bryant's fourth homer of the season.
