RICHMOND — The Eastern Kentucky football team will play 11 games in 2010, highlighted by a road contest at Louisville on Sept. 11.
Eastern's schedule, announced Wednesday, features five home games, including matchups against 2009 Ohio Valley Conference champion Eastern Illinois and league rival Jacksonville State.
The Colonels open the season with three consecutive road games.
For the third straight year, EKU will kick off the schedule on a Thursday night, this time at Missouri State of the Missouri Valley Conference. This will be the first meeting between the programs.
The following week, Eastern takes on Louisville for the first time since 1991. Eastern's last victory over a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent came against the Cardinals in 1985.
On Sept. 18, the Colonels visit Southern Conference foe Chattanooga. Both Missouri State and Chattanooga will visit Roy Kidd Stadium in 2011.
EKU (5-6, 5-3 OVC in 2009) will open at home Sept. 25 against Kentucky State.
Two weeks later, the Colonels open OVC action against Eastern Illinois.
Homecoming is Oct. 30 against Murray State.
Times for all games will be announced later.
