Former University of Kentucky head football coach Joker Phillips will make $265,000 annually as wide receivers coach at the University of Florida.
Phillips signed a two-year contract with the Gators, who released details of several of their coaches' contracts on Friday. Phillips was making about $1.7 million per year when he was fired as head coach at Kentucky and replaced by Mark Stoops after last season.
New Florida defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin got a raise to go along with his promotion.
Durkin, the team's former linebackers coach and special teams coordinator, will make $490,000 annually as defensive coordinator. That's a $150,000 raise. He also got an extra year added to his contract, keeping him through the 2014 season. Kentucky's new defensive coordinator, D.J. Eliot will earn $500,000 a year.
Durkin replaced Dan Quinn, who was hired by the NFL's Seattle Seahawks.
Defensive line coach Brad Lawing signed a three-year contract worth $390,000 annually. Lawing also got a $50,000 signing bonus.
All three coaches get the use of a dealer car as well as an apparel stipend from Nike worth $10,000 annually.
