Dy'Shawn Mobley, a transfer from Kentucky, rushed for 142 yards on 25 carries Thursday night to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 29-10 victory over Robert Morris in Moon Township, Pa.
Mobley decided to join the Colonels after gaining 143 yards on 17 carries against Tennessee in his finale as a Wildcat last season. That came after making his first career start in the 11th game of his sophomore year, when he finished with 92 yards on 10 carries at Georgia.
Mobley's Colonel debut helped EKU compile 624 yards of offense.
Channing Fugate's 42-yard touchdown catch with 4:16 left in the first quarter gave the Colonels a 7-0 lead and quarterback Jared McClain made it 14-3 with a keeper for a score from 18 yards out.
Never miss a local story.
McClain and fellow EKU quarterback Bennie Coney combined to complete 17 of 30 passes for a total of 217 yards.
Coney threw the touchdown pass to Fugate and McClain, who finished with 90 rushing yards, tacked on the second-quarter score.
