Eastern Kentucky University senior running back Dy'Shawn Mobley was named this week to the National Performer of the Year watch list for the Football Championship Subdivision.
Mobley is one of 32 FCS players named to the list, and one of only eight running backs. The other 24 are quarterbacks. The winner will be announced Jan. 13, 2016. Mobley was previously named the Ohio Valley Conference's preseason offensive player of the year by both the coaches and media.
Mobley, who transferred to EKU from Kentucky after his sophomore season, earned 2014 OVC Offensive Player of the Year honors and was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award last season after rushing for 1,491 yards and scoring 20 touchdowns.
Eastern Kentucky opens its 2015 season at home against Valparaiso on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.
