Indianapolis forward Trey Lyles is expected to be in Rupp Arena on Saturday for Kentucky’s regular-season finale against Florida.
Tom Lyles, the father of the class of 2014 star, confirmed to the Herald-Leader that his son is planning to attend the game. It will be his fourth trip to Lexington since decommitting from homestate Indiana over the summer. Lyles and his father visited in September, he was one of several guests for Big Blue Madness in October, and he returned for last month’s home victory over Auburn.
Lyles is rated by Scout.com as the No. 1 power forward and No. 4 overall player in the class of 2014. The 6-foot-9, 210-pounder has narrowed his list of schools to Kentucky, Louisville, Florida, Duke, Butler and UCLA. He has said in the past that he does not expect to commit to a school until next season.
New Jersey big man Karl Towns is currently UK’s only commitment from the class of 2014.
Lyles suffered a knee injury in last week’s playoffs and there was a fear that he could miss time during the spring and summer AAU season. An MRI showed no structural damage, and Tom Lyles told the Herald-Leader on Thursday that Trey is doing well and should be up to full speed in a couple of weeks.
UK signee James Young is also expected to attend Saturday’s game.
