The University of Kentucky women's soccer team is ranked No. 16 in the nation in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America preseason Top 25 poll released Monday.
This marks the first time Kentucky has earned a preseason ranking in the poll.
The Wildcats are one of four Southeastern Conference teams to make the Top 25, joining No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 8 Florida and No. 11 South Carolina. Kentucky received 299 points.
Two Atlantic Coast Conference teams topped the poll, with defending national champion Florida State receiving 25 of the 32 possible first-place votes. Second-ranked Virginia received three first-place votes. Next game Stanford (one first-place vote) and UCLA (three).

Kentucky men not ranked
The Kentucky men's soccer team did not make the coaches' preseason Top 25 but did receive four votes in the poll.
UCLA was ranked No. 1 among the men, followed by Virginia, Georgetown, Notre Dame and North Carolina.
Louisville's men are ranked No. 18.
