The Los Angeles Angels announced that outfielder Collin Cowgill was reinstated from the disabled list on Tuesday when major league rosters expanded to 40 players.
Cowgill, a former Henry Clay and University of Kentucky star, batted .180 with one home run and two RBI in 35 games before being sidelined by an injury to his right wrist. He went on the disabled list on May 27.
He had been on a rehab assignment and had played two games for Class A Advanced Inland Empire and 14 with Triple-A Salt Lake. He combined to hit .340 with three doubles, one home run and four RBI in 50 at-bats.
Cowgill, who is in his fifth major league season, played in a career-high 106 games last season for the Angels. He batted .250 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 260 at-bats.
