Sophomore Chad Wright and junior Chris Bisson each hit two-run homers, and Kentucky beat Bowling Green 6-4 Friday to win its seventh consecutive home opener.
Wright started the scoring for UK (4-0) in the third inning with a home run off the scoreboard in left center. Bisson followed one inning later with a blast over the wall in left center.
Sophomore Alex Meyer (2-0) allowed two earned runs over 52⁄3 innings for the win. Junior Matt Little pitched the final 31⁄3 innings, picking up his first save as a Cat.
Game 2 of the three-game series is Saturday at 1 p.m.
